This year, Piper-Heidsieck popped the cork and celebrated the revival of Melbourne’s vibrant, diverse and resilient arts culture at the Australian Open 2022 (AO22). To mark the fourth consecutive year as the Official Champagne of the Happy Slam, Piper brought to life immersive brand experiences inside and outside the precinct, with activations located everywhere from the popular Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Bar at Rod Laver Arena Terrace, to The Commons at Ormond Collective and Bar Bambi in AC/DC Lane in Melbourne and all the way through to The Greens in North Sydney. In a nod to Melbourne's renowned arts industry that has been deprived of a stage for some time as a result of the pandemic, Piper-Heidsieck revealed "Melbourne Uncorked by Piper-Heidsieck" - a campaign featuring performances which showcased some of the cities remarkable local artists and celebrated their return with the Australian Open acting as centre stage. The Piper Uncorked Crew included Ash James on the Sax, Drag Queen Valerie Hex, violinist Justin Bailey and ballerina Kealy Fouracre.

Romano Beck delivered a multi-channelled and consolidated marketing strategy which included end-to-end management of the entire Australian Open 2022 project. Scope included: campaign creative development and execution, traditional press strategy and management across international, national and local key targets, ambassador procurement, content creation and production, event, ticketing and guest list management, daily VIP, media and celebrity hosting, strategy and management of media buy and management of Piper-Heidsieck’s global social platforms, both organic and paid.
